In order to investigate the effects of reduced row spacing from usual 75 cm to 25 cm (UNR), an experiment has been conducted in two locations: Davarabad agricultural research station (Semnan Province) and Varamin Central Agricultural Research Station. The experimental design is RCBD laid out in split plots with three replications. The main plots are the planting dates (May 22 and Jun 5, 2020) and five cultivars, i.e. Khorshid, Kashmar, Sajedi, Hekmat, and Khordad serve as the sub plots. The results show that location effect on vegetative and reproductive attributes has been significant. UNR boosts the yield in Aradan, but in Varamin region, this planting method, not only has failed to increase the yield, but has reduced it significantly. This is due to reducing the boll number as a result of rank growth of plants in UNR system. Reduction of row spaces from 75 to 25 cm enhances the number of monopodials, sympodials, and plant height. In Varamin, plant height of all cultivars are higher than 119 cm. the highest yield in this region obtained from Khordad as Control (3886 kg seed ha -1). The highest yield in Aradan, obtained from Khorshid (5702.5 kg seed ha -1) in UNR system. This shows that the UNR planting of zero type varieties is more adabtable for Garmsar condition than that of Varamin.

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of sowing date and hydropriming on the yield of two cotton cultivars using a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design in three replications at the Research Farm of Islamic Azad University, Sanandaj Branch in 2013 growing season. The first factor was sowing date with three levels: April 29, May 13, and May 27. The second factor was hydropriming in two levels of control (without priming) and hydro-priming application and the third factor was cultivar with two levels of Paak and Varamin cultivars. Results showed that seed hydropriming at the first sowing date (April 29) significantly increased seed cotton yield in comparison with control (without priming), however hydropriming had no effects on seed cotton at the second and the third sowing dates. Varamin cultivar responded well to early planting and its yield at the first sowing date was significantly higher than that of Paak cultivar whereas there was no difference between two cultivars regarding seed cotton yield at the other sowing dates. Delay in sowing date and non-priming treatments resulted in a significant decrease in oil content of Paak cultivar, but had no significant effect on the oil content of Varamin cultivar.

To investigate the effect of water treatment and plant density on yield and yield components of two cotton cultivar, a two-year experiment (2006-2007) was carried out in Esfahan Agricultural Research Center. The use of a split plot factorial based on complete block with four replications for study. Two irrigation levels 135 (I1) and 180 (I2) mm of cumulative pan evaporation Class A, from flowering stage to the end of growth were assigned as main plots and treatment combination of two varieties of Mehr and Oltan of cotton and plant spacing 12, 15 and 18 cm (respectively, 120.95 and 80 thousand plants ha-1) were assigned made up as subplots. The results showed that both cultivars Mehr and Oltan in the density of 95 thousand plants per hectare in I1 irrigation treatments, respectively, with 2805 and 2745 kg ha-1 of yields produced the highest levels of yield compared to other treatments. In the I2 irrigation treatment and 95 thousand plants ha-1 density, Oltan cultivars producing 2119 kg ha-1, and had lowest yield compared to other treatments. In both cultivars in 95 thousand plants ha-1, between the two treatments of irrigation levels, no significant differences in terms of leaf dry weight. The results showed that irrigation after flowering phase until the end of growth, based on 135 mm evaporation basin A and the density of 95 thousand plants ha-1 can be proposed, for both cultivars studied.
