Objective: This experiment was conducted to investigate the agricultural value of two new varieties of beans: Sepehr and Sembol, which were introduced by the private sector with the aim of registering the named varieties in the national list of plant varieties.Methods: These cultivars (Sepehr and Sembol) along with 4 domestic control cultivars were studied in 3 locations (Karaj, Zanjan, and Khomein) based on complete randomized block design in 3 replications during two crop seasons (2019-2020 and 2020-2021).Results: Results showed that flowering occurred significantly earlier in candidate cultivars (Sepehr and Sembol) than control cultivars (8 and 4 days respectively). As the same way, physiological seed ripening in candidate cultivars occurred earlier than control cultivars (8 and 10 days earlier than mean of other cultivars respectively). The number of seeds in the pods of Sepehr and Sembol candidate cultivars did not significantly differ from the control cultivars. Sepehr and Sembol cultivars produced larger seeds and hundred seeds weight of these cultivars was greatly higher than other cultivars (9.7 and 24.1 percent higher than mean of other cultivars respectively), but the seed yield in these two cultivars was significantly lower than control cultivars (19.89 and 18.27 percent lower than mean of other cultivars respectively).Conclusion: Finally, the candidate cultivars Sepehr and Sembol can play an effective role as new germplasms in the country's bean production due to their erect type and ease of harvesting, early maturity and consumption of one to two times less water, marketability and production of larger seeds.

To investigate the effect of nanofertilizers functionalized with two organic compounds in phosphorusreleasing and its influence on the growth parameters of bean plant, a factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design in 3 replicationsat the Agriculture Research Center of Hamadan in 2014. Fertilizer treatments including P0 (zeolite without functional group (control sample)), P1 (zeolite + AcAcEN ligand), P2 (zeolite + HED ligand) and P3 (triple super phosphate) and also twotypes of bean including the red beans (PhaseolusvulgarisL) and cowpea (Vigna unguiculataL.) were used. Results showed that in comparison with two other zeolite fertilizers,usingnanozeolite functionalized with HED ligandresulted in improving the quantitative and qualitativeparameters of bean. Compared with triple super phosphate, P2 fertilizer showed better results in the case of grain yield and plant phosphorus uptake and moreover, phosphorus leaching was lower in this fertilizer. The general results of this report is representative of the useful and effective role of nanozeolite functionalized with HED ligand in improving the growth parameters as well as qualitative and quantitative characteristics of bean plant.

To evaluate the effects of some phosphorus solubilizing bacteria strains on yield and agronomic traits in local bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) of Guilan, different phosphate fertilizer rates were tested during 2014 growing season. This research was carried out in experimental field of Agricultural and Natural Resource Research Center of Guilan province as split plot arrangement based on randomized complete block design with three replicates. The rates of phosphate fertilizer including zero, 40 and 80 kg P/ha (P2O5), and three strains of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria (Pseudomonas putida) including 113, 168 and 173 and non inoculation as check were randomized in main plots and sub plots, respectively. The results showed that the interaction effects between phosphate fertilizer and phosphorus solubilizing bacteria was significant for 100 seed weight and seed protein content of bean. Application of 80 kg P/ha showed the lowest pod number per plant (9.8), seed number per pod (3.53), biological yield (3317 kg/ha), seed yield (1136 kg/ha) per unit area. Also, the greatest seed number per pod (4.12), harvest index (44 percent) and seed yield (1858 kg/ha) were obtained as affected by phosphorus solubilizing bacteria strain 168. The results showed that the strain 168 had the higher efficiency for seed yield enhancement in comparison with other strains of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria. Based on the results of this research, at the low levels of soils available phosphorus, the strains of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria can be recommended to enhance seed yield in local bean under Guilan and similar climatic and edaphic conditions.

In order to evaluate the effect of salicylic acid on yield and yield components of bean genotypes under water deficit stress, an experiment was carried out as a factorial split plot design with three replications in research farm Bu Ali-Sina University (Hamadan, Iran) during 2009. Stress levels: consist of vegetative water stress, reproduction water stress and without water stress (control) and three bean genotypes (‘Akhtar’, ‘D81083’ and ‘KS31169’) allocated in the main plots and three concentrations of salicylic acid 0, 0.5 and 1 mM to the sub-plots. Based on results the treatments had significant effects on plant height, number of branches, pod number per plant, seeds per pod, 100 seed weight, biological yield, grain yield and harvest index. Vegetative and reproductive drought stresses reduced grain yield but foliar application of Salicylic acid improved the growth and yield of bean. Utilizing salicylic acid in vegetative and reproductive stages improved the grain yield 17.2 and 16.8 percent, respectively. Such this result observed for biological yield too. Totally this research showed that between the genotypes of experiment, the ‘D81083’ and ‘Akhtar’ genotypes had higher grain yield and harvest index compared to ‘KS31169’. Foliar application of salicylic acid not only improved the growth and yield in no-stress condition but also for adjusting the drought stress especially at vegetative stress is recommended

In order to study of Sodium Nitroprusside(SNP) application effect on growth indices and water use efficiency of kidney beans cultivars(Akhtar and Derakhshan) under water deficit stress, an experiment was conducted in split factorial based in randomized complete block design with three replications in Bu-Ali Sina university research field at 2012. Water stress treatments included vegetative stress, reproductive stress, vegetative+reproductive stress and non-water stress (control). Foliar application of SNP was done in 3 concentration(0, 150 and 300 µM SNP). Reproductive stress reduced leaf area, crop growth rate and total dry weight in both cultivars. SNP foliar application (300 µM) increased mentioned indices 28, 26 and 20 percent in Akhtar and 28, 20 and 20 percent in Derakhshan in comparison to without foliar application, respectively. Water use efficiency of grain and water use efficiency of biomass in vegetative stress was more than of non-water stress. Maximum amount of water use efficiency was for Akhtar cultivar with 300 µM Sodium Nitroprusside foliar application and were 0.72 and 2.9 percent for grain and biomass, respectively. SNP foliar application ameliorated and improved negative effects of vegetative and reproductive stress. SNP application(300 µM) had more effect on growth and yield in both cultivars at all water regimes. Therefore, foliar SNP(300 µM) it’s desirable for kidney bean under water deficit stress.
